About Newfoundlands: Known as "nature's babysitter," Newfoundlands are sweet-tempered, patient and famously gentle. Originally bred as working dogs for fishermen in Canada, they're natural swimmers with webbed feet and a water-resistant coat. Despite their enormous size, they're incredibly calm and affectionate — making them perfect family dogs and beloved companions on Alresford's riverside walks.
